Cristin M. Dillard has dedicated the last 9 years to the education of PK-12 students. Currently she is serving as the Education Specialist for Library Media with the Alabama State Department of Education. Previously she served as the technology integration coach for Enterprise City Schools and as the information specialist at Fort Rucker Primary. Mrs. Dillard's other previous roles as a high school social studies teacher at Pike County High School permeates itself into her current role as a library media specialist serving PK-8 students. Both roles have allowed her to incorporate technology in a variety of ways to help students have an authentic voice and creative outlet through such means as projects that include video creation, journalistic writing, and publication using emerging EdTech tools.
In 2008 she was employed with Pike County Schools. During her tenure with PCS, she has served in many leadership roles such as serving on both Pike County High School and Banks School Continuous Improvement Plan committees, Technology committee, faculty dress code development committee, and many others. In August 2016, she began working with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) at Fort Rucker Primary School as the information specialist. At Fort Rucker Primary, she has worked with the Continuous School Improvement committee to write plans for imrprovement of instruction in addition preparing for AdvancEd accreditation. Throughout her career she has earned a reputation as a trusted, dependable, and innovative leader.
In addition to her district leadership roles, she has worked with educators on the state level. In 2013 she was selected by the Alabama State Department of Education as the library media specialist representative in a group of 25 leaders to develop the Transform 2020 Technology Plan. She has collaborated with the Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX) team since 2011 as a trainer. She has lead professional development workshops with ALEX across the state to develop other leaders of professional development.
After earning her Educational Leadership certification from the state of Alabama, she looks to the future to her role as a leader in an innovative, forward-thinking school that values creativity, technology innovation, and an educator who has worked with grades PK-12. Her aspirations are to move into an administrative position that will best utilize her skills sets to make a great impact on student achievement and the advocacy for public PK-12 education.
