About the Library Media Specialist & Educator
Cristin M. Dillard is currently the system Technology Integration Coach for Enterprise City Schools in Enterprise, Alabama. She was formerly the Information Specialist for Fort Rucker Primary School located on the post of Fort Rucker for the 2016-2017 school year. She previously served as the library media specialist at Banks School in Banks, Alabama for five years. Mrs. Dillard's previous role as a high school social studies teacher at Pike County High School permeates itself into her current role as a library media specialist serving PK-8 students. Both roles have allowed her to incorporate technology in a variety of ways to help students have an authentic voice and creative outlet through such means as projects that include video creation, journalistic writing, and publication using emerging EdTech tools.
Above all she is an advocate for library media specialists, school libraries, and reading. She believes reading helps all other academic successes and strongly believes in encouraging students to be literate and readers through fostering a life-long love of learning.
In 2008 she was employed with Pike County Schools. During her tenure with PCS, she has served in many leadership roles such as serving on both Pike County High School and Banks School Continuous Improvement Plan committees, Technology committee, faculty dress code development committee, and many others. She has earned a reputation as a trusted, dependable, and innovative educational leader.
In addition to her district leadership roles, she has worked with educators on the state level. In 2013 she was selected by the Alabama State Department of Education as the library media specialist representative in a group of 25 leaders to develop the Transform 2020 Technology Plan. She has collaborated with the Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX) team since 2011 as a trainer. She has lead professional development workshops with ALEX across the state to develop other leaders of professional development.
As she pursues her Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership, Administration, & Supervision she looks to the future to her role as a leader in an innovative, forward-thinking school that values creativity, technology innovation, and an educator who has worked with grades PK-12.
